Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Job Description

  • The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations within a designated geographical area, ensuring the achievement of sales targets, developing and maintaining relationships with key clients, and leading a team of sales representatives. 
  • The role requires strategic planning, market analysis, and consistent execution of sales strategies to drive business growth and market penetration.

Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement sales plans to meet or exceed targets for the assigned area.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales representatives or executives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback to enhance productivity.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales goals and maintain a high-performance culture.

Client and Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Address client concerns and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the area.

Operational Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain to ensure product availability.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance regulations, and pricing guidelines.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay updated on industry developments, market conditions, and competitor strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve market positioning and product offerings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in [industry, e.g., FMCG, retail, etc.].
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
