Job Title: Head of Risk

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the bank's risk management policies and framework.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate credit, operational, market, and liquidity risks.
• Oversee loan portfolio quality and ensure adherence to risk appetite.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Central Bank guidelines).
• Lead risk assessments, internal control evaluations, and stress testing.
• Provide strategic guidance to management on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with credit, compliance, and internal audit teams to strengthen risk controls.
• Implement a robust risk reporting system for management and stakeholders.
• Train and build risk awareness within the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
• Professional certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM, PRM, CFA) is preferred.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in risk management, preferably in a microfinance bank or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of CBN regulations, and risk management best practices.
• Experience in credit risk assessment, loan portfolio management, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
