Job Summary

  • Our client is looking for a passionate and results-driven Livelihood Officer to support business development initiatives, empowerment programs, and economic development efforts within their city. 
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in microfinance, startup support, and event coordination. 
  • This is a 3-6 month paid contract role, with an opportunity for top-performing candidates to join the team permanently.

Key Responsibilities
Business & Economic Development:

  • Develop and support sustainable business initiatives for startups and SMEs in the assigned city.
  • Facilitate microfinance initiatives and empowerment programs to boost local economic growth.
  • Engage with local organizations, influencers, and stakeholders to enhance impact.

Event Coordination & Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact person for all city-level events.
  • Oversee event planning and logistics, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for different event roles.
  • Promote and manage city conferences and related activities.

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Provide regular updates and reports to the central organizing team.
  • Collaborate with other city officers to share insights and improve program outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 2 years of experience in livelihoods, sustainable business development, or startup assistance.
  • Strong background in microfinance, economic empowerment, or community engagement.
  • Excellent event planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and networking abilities with local stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within a short-term contract.
  • An understanding of the economic indicators and SME drivers in the assigned city.
