We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Development Chemist

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Develops products for customers based on individual specifications. Developnew paint products. Issues formulation to the production team for the development of new paint products.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the evaluation of raw materials to produce paint products.
  • Develops colours based on special requests by customers.
  • Issues formulation batch sheet to production.
  • Drafts technical and material sheets for each product.
  • Sends approved customer specifications for cost to the finance team using the organization’s ERP system.
  • Renders technical services to the sales team based on customers’ specifications.
  • Assists with the provision of technical solutions to challenges experienced by the sales team while on project sites.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and guidelines.
  • Ensures accuracy with formulation for paint products.
  • Ensures product testing is carried out with accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Adheres to guidelines and regulations with the formulation of new paint products.
  • Carries out product knowledge training for new employees in the department.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the senior development chemist

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry, chemistry, and chemical engineering from a reputable and accredited university. Master’s degree is an added advantage
  • Certification in the following – Institute of Chartered Chemistsof Nigeria (ICON), Six Sigma.
  • Good understanding of procedures, standards, and product specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proven knowledge of paint formulation
  • Expert knowledge of chemical compositions of raw materials.
