Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Port Harcourt - Rivers & Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with expertise in mechanical design and consulting.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical designs for oil and gas operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs for oil and gas equipment and systems.
  • Create and modify technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
  • Conduct structural and stress analysis to optimize designs for performance and durability.
  • Ensure all designs comply with API, ASME, ISO, and other industry standards.
  • Support fabrication and manufacturing teams by providing clear and precise design specifications.
  • Work with vendors and procurement teams to review and select appropriate mechanical components.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and revisions as needed.

Requirements

  • B.Sc./HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for oil and gas servicing or consulting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or similar mechanical design tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping layouts, and pressure vessel design.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection in oil and gas applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • COREN, ASME, or PMP certifications.
  • Hands-on experience in offshore/onshore projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software for mechanical system design and analysis.
