Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced ATEX Specialist to join our team for an oil and gas project in the Niger Delta region.
• The successful candidate will ensure compliance with explosive atmosphere regulations and standards, and have expertise in hazardous area classification and equipment selection for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hazardous area classification and risk assessments for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities
• Select and specify ATEX-compliant equipment and systems for use in hazardous areas
• Ensure compliance with ATEX directives and regulations as well as relevant Nigerian regulations and industry standards (e.g., DPR, NUPRC)
• Develop and implement ATEX-related procedures and policies for the project
• Provide training and guidance on ATEX awareness and compliance to project personnel
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ATEX compliance, hazardous area classification, and equipment selection for oil and gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of ATEX directives and regulations, as well as relevant Nigerian regulations and industry standards.
• Experience working in the Niger Delta region or similar environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
