We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer

Location: Sokoto
Employment Type: Full-time

Primary Responsibilities

  • S/he will provide technical assistance to the SPADs team in implementing and effectively utilizing the SPADs MEAL system. 
  • S/he will ensure adherence to established monitoring and evaluation frameworks, guidelines, and reporting standards.
  • The MEAL officer will work closely with partners to strengthen data collection, analysis, reporting, and quality assurance systems, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and program objectives.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor data collection processes, reporting accuracy, and compliance with donor regulations.
  • S/he will facilitate training ad-hoc staff on proper data collection methods, accurate reporting, and timely submission of program data.
  • Work closely with the State Program Manager to ensure a clear understanding of data requirements, data collection tools, and standardized report formats.
  • Support data review and validation processes at both state and local government levels to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the program team to conduct caseload analysis across the SPADs team, ensuring data-driven decision-making in service delivery.
  • Support the SPADs team in tracking key program performance indicators and identifying trends in service provision, especially within IDP communities.
  • Ensure timely reporting by the SPADs team and facilitate information flow between implementing partners and PHI.
  • Participate in relevant SPADs project management and technical meetings to ensure effective coordination between program, management, and MEAL staff.

Minimum Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MEAL frameworks, data collection tools, and methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems for humanitarian programs, particularly in IDP settings.
  • Ability to coordinate with program teams, donors, and stakeholders to ensure effective data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in data management software (e.g., Excel, SPSS, KoboToolbox, Power BI) for tracking program performance and impact.
