Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize our fintech database systems.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and efficiency of our data infrastructure to support seamless financial transactions and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable database systems to support fintech applications.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and optimization of database systems.
  • Perform regular database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to prevent data loss.
  • Monitor database performance, security vulnerabilities, and system health, implementing necessary improvements.
  • Implement data encryption, authentication protocols, and access control to ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements (CBN, NDPR, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
  • Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Work closely with software engineers and DevOps teams to support API integrations and cloud-based database solutions.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, resolve bottlenecks, and optimize queries to enhance system performance.
  • Ensure real-time replication and failover mechanisms for mission-critical applications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database structures, policies, and security measures.
  • Research and implement new database technologies, AI-driven automation, and best practices in fintech database management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator in a fintech, banking, or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, encryption, and access control best practices.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Apache Kafka).
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and DevOps tools (Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker) is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and attention to detail.
