Job Title: Auxiliary Nurse

Location: Isolo, Lagos
Employment Type: Part-time

Job Summary

  • Provides basic patient care and support under the supervision of registered nurses, focusing on daily living activities, vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.

  • Patient Care:

    • Assisting patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
    • Monitoring vital signs like temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
    • Providing emotional support and comfort to patients.
    • Ensuring patients are comfortable and their needs are met.
  • Assisting with Medical Procedures:

    • Helping with medical procedures, such as administering medications (under supervision).
    • Taking blood samples.
    • Performing basic tests.
  • Maintaining a Safe and Clean Environment:

    • Ensuring medical equipment is properly maintained and sterilized.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized patient environment.
    • Following safety protocols.
  • Communication and Documentation:

    • Communicating with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
    • Reporting changes in a patient's condition to the head nurse.
    • Maintaining accurate records of patient care.
  • Other Duties:

    • Assisting with patient mobility (e.g., transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs).
    • Preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
    • Distributing and serving food and drinks.
    • Changing bed linens and tidying wards.
    • Transporting patients to different areas of the hospital.
    • Assisting with wound care.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an SSCE qualification with 2 - 5 years of experience.
