Job Description
- The St. Bridget’s Schools is seeking a Director of Vocational and Experiential Training who will be primarily responsible for providing career counsel to students as well as educational and vocational guidance services.
Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare students for later educational experiences by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
- Evaluate students’ abilities, interests, and characteristics to provide counsel in career planning.
- Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as course and program selection, class scheduling and registration, school adjustment, truancy, study habits, and career planning.
- Instruct students in career development techniques such as job search and application strategies, resume writing, and interview skills.
- Plan and develop instructional methods and content for educational, vocational, or student activity programs.
- Plan and lead professional development activities for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum Master’s degree in Education, Counseling or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a secondary school.
