Job Summary
- Our client is looking for an experienced Head of People to lead the Human Resources function of the organisation.
- The candidate will be pivotal in shaping the HR strategy and driving organizational growth by fostering a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Provide counsel to the CEO on talent management and organizational development.
- Establish and maintain an effective performance management framework.
Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top talent.
- Design employee development programs to enhance skills and career growth.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Foster a positive work culture that aligns with the company’s values.
- Implement employee engagement initiatives to boost morale and productivity.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Manage payroll, pensions, health insurance (HMO), and other benefits.
- Conduct periodic reviews of compensation structures to ensure competitiveness.
Compliance & Policy Implementation:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws and company policies.
- Regularly update HR policies in line with industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of people operations, recruiting including general HR experience, and 3 years' experience in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint) proficiently for creating documents, managing data, and preparing comprehensive presentations and reports.
- Proven track record in implementing HR strategies that drive business outcomes.
- Experience with startups and cross-country recruitment.
Must have skills:
- Exceptional organisational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
- Proven track record of driving organisational culture initiatives.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and exercise conscious control of time spent on assigned tasks/activities to improve overall productivity.
