Job Title: Head Pharmacist

Job Overview

  • Our client is in need of an experienced and dedicated Head Pharmacist to lead and manage our pharmacy operations. 
  • The successful candidate will oversee the dispensing of medications, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage pharmacy staff, and maintain excellent service standards. 
  • The Head Pharmacist will play a crucial role in patient care, drug inventory management, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians.
  • Ensure accurate dispensing and proper labeling of medications.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place timely orders to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Maintain strict adherence to pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, interactions, and storage.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on pharmacy operations to management.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve medication-related issues.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a pharmacy setting in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy Administration or Healthcare Management.
  • Valid pharmacy license.
  • Certification in Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) or equivalent.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and systems.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Experience in both hospital and retail pharmacy settings.
