Unicane Industries Limited was established and incorporated as a private limited company in the year 2013 under the company Acts of 1990. Unicane Industries Limited is a member of a long-standing group in Nigeria founded in 1953. The group is a leading ethanol producer in Africa and an industrial group of long experience and very good standing. The group is continuously expanding its activities which now count a wide range of agro-allied activities that include cassava to ethanol processing and refining. At present, its factory is located in Jamata, Kogi State.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Technicians (Heavy - Duty Engines)

Location: Jamata Village, Lokoja LGA, Kogi
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Engines Mechanical Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty engines used in various applications, including but not limited to:

  • Trucks and trailers.
  • Tractors and agricultural equipment.
  • Cranes and hoisting equipment.
  • Excavators, loaders, and other construction equipment.
  • Generators and industrial power equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy-duty engines, including troubleshooting problems with engine performance, transmission, and drivetrain.
  • Perform routine maintenance on engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and other scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues.
  • Repair and replace engine components, such as pistons, cylinders, and crankshafts.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, such as repair manuals and service bulletins.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety protocols and regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on heavy-duty engines.
  • Proven track record of diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and repair.
  • Experience with diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to work in a workshop environment
