Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is an Italian non-governmental organization founded in 1965. COOPI aims to help the world’s poorest to improve their access to healthcare, food and financial security and to overcome their special vulnerability to emergency situation generated by wars, civil conflicts and natural disasters. Current projects focus on assisting returnees and victims of inhumane and degrading treatment. In Africa, in Latin America, in Asia and in East Europe, projects include community based development, improvement of the water supply and environmental protection.

Since June 2015, COOPI field office has been moved from Bauchi to Potiskum, Yobe State in order to provide assistance to Internal Displaced People living in Damaturu, Fika and Potiskum covering mainly Food Security, Nutrition and Child Protection.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Field Officer

Duration of the contract: 8 months (with possible extension)

Programme
The challenge of the Field Officer is to coordinate and implement the projects activities in his assigned LGA as well as to facilitate COOPI relation in the area with local counterparts including the SEMA, village authorities, public sector coordinators, IDPs and others as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Project implementation: support the assessments in the field, mapping and identification of the IDPs and support the selection of the beneficiaries;
  • Project implementation: support the implementation of the activities related to the Food Security, Nutrition and Child Protection;
  • Periodic reporting to COOPI office in Potiskum to the Specific activity coordinators;
  • Perform any other action related with the position needed to achieve the objectives of the projects and of COOPI Nigeria if requested by his/her supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
  • Based in Yobe State
  • Excellent level of English;
  • Excellent coaching and leadership skills;
  • At least 1 year of field experience in development and rural areas.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
