2013 Nigeria French Language Village Academic Programmes.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following Programmes: Post Graduate Diploma in Translation and Interpretation, Post Graduate Diploma in Bilingual Secretaryship, Diploma in French Studies and Certificate in French Courses

1.) Post Graduate Diploma Programmes
i. Post Graduate Diploma in Translation and Interpretation
ii. Post Graduate Diploma in Bilingual Secretaryship

Duration of Programmes
12 Calendar Months made up
1st Semester January 8th - April 19th, 2013
2nd Semester April 22nd - August 30th, 2013
3 Months Mandatory Industrial Experience from September December, 2013

Admission Requirements
Candidates must possess the following:
  • A Bachelor of Arts Degree (or its equivalent in French) from any recognized University.
  • Second Class Lower minimum
  • Minimum of (5) credits in GCE/SSCE including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

Screening Exercise
There will be a screening exercise for qualified applicants before admission, Items to be brought along for the exercise include:
  • Two (2) Passport sized Photographs
  • Degree result
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate or a proof of Exemption
  • Evidence of participation in the Language Immersion Programme either from the Nigeria French Language Village or from other recognized similar Institutions of similar status in any part of the World.

Cost of Form
N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira only) subject to review Prospective candidates are advised to obtain application form direct from the Village.

2.) Diploma in French Studies

Duration of Programme
One (1) Academic Session divided into Two (2) Semesters from January to September.
1st Semester January 8th - April 19th, 2013
2nd Semester April 22nd - August 30th, 2013

Admission Requirements
Candidates for admission into the Diploma in French Studies must be 16yrs minimum and possess the following:
Minimum of five (5) credits in GCE/SSCE or its equivalence including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings from the same examination body.

Screening Exercise
There will be a screening exercise for qualified applicants before admission, Items to be brought along for the exercise include:
  • Two (2) Passport sized Photographs
  • Photocopies of GCE/SSCE result
  • A reference letter on the moral character of the candidate from any of the following: Clergy, Lawyer, Military Personnel/Police, former Principal or Employer

Cost of Form
N4,000 (Four Thousand Naira only) subject to review. Prospective candidates shall obtain form on-line

3.) Certificate in French

Suitable for secretaries, receptionists, marketing officers, businessmen and women, military and paramilitary personnel, school savers and other interested individuals.

Duration of Programmes
The programme runs in modules of 3 months duration each (modules I, II, III) beginning from January every year. At the end of each module, students would sit for written and oral examinations.
1st Batch: January 8th - March 22nd 2013
2nd Batch: April 9th - June 28th 2013
3rd Batch: August 13th - October 25th 2013

Admission Requirements

Candidates for admission into the certificate course must be 16yrs or above and have a minimum of GCE/SSCE result or its equivalence
Interested adult learners without the stipulated qualifications are eligible to apply, provided they are sufficiently literate,

Screening Exercise

  • Two (2) Passport sized Photographs
  • A reference letter on the moral character of the candidate from any of the following: Clergy, Lawyer, Military Personnel /Police, former Principal or Employer

Important Dates
On-line application opens on Monday, 15th October and closes on Friday 7th December, 2012. Late purchase of forms commences on Monday 10th December and ends on Friday 14th December 2012 and this will attract a fine of N1,000.
No application will be entertained after Friday 14th December 2012.

Method of Application
1.) Application Forms for Diploma in French Studies and Certificate in French Studies should be completed on-line after paying the appropriate fee for the purchase of application Form Pin Voucher at any branch of Zenith Bank Plc through the account number 6115505147. Application form for Postgraduate Diploma in Bilingual Secretaryship and PGD in Translation and Interpretation shall be obtained in the Village.

2.) For Diploma in French Studies and Certificate in French Studies, Go to: http://www.nflv.edu.ng

3.) Click on "Start Application" link,

4.) On the application Log in Page, click on Sign up Here to register as first timer user.

5.) On the sign up page, enter Your PIN Number, choose Your Mode of Study, Choose Your Programme. Enter your Surname, other names, email, Phone Number and your User Name and Password. (Note: An Email address is essential for you to receive notifications on-line from the school) Click on "Click here to sign up" button.

6.) This will sign you up and transfer you to login page.

7.) On the login page, enter your user name and the password you used to sign-up above, and click on the login button to go to the Applicant Control Centre.

8.) Click "fill Application Form". A copy of Electronic registration Form will appear with preloaded Surname, other names and prospective courses.

9.) Fill the Application forms as appropriate. Click on Next or Back button to switch between the pages.

10.) Click " Agree" button on the final page.

11.) Then click on "click here to apply" button on the final page.

12.) From the print window that appears, click on "Print My Application Form" link to get a printed copy of the form for appropriate signature.

13.) Go back to the Applicant Control Centre and print Acknowledgement Slip from the top left button with the name "Print Acknowledgement Slip".

14.) You can always login back to the portal to check your admission status and other vital information regarding your admission.
