Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Oil and Gas / Manufacturing engineering industry and have proven expertise in sales, client relations, and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to increase company revenue and expand market reach.
  • Identify, engage, and establish long-term relationships with prospective clients in the electrical engineering sector.
  • Lead efforts to generate and qualify new business leads, and pursue opportunities in line with the company’s goals.
  • Create and deliver impactful presentations and proposals tailored to meet client needs.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for expansion.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and marketing, to align business development efforts with service offerings.
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring favorable terms that meet both client needs and company profitability goals.
  • Manage client onboarding processes and ensure seamless transition to project teams.
  • Prepare and present regular business development reports to senior management, including performance metrics and sales forecasts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations within the engineering, construction, or industrial sector; experience in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the electrical engineering industry and market dynamics.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into business opportunities.
  • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, with a passion for client engagement and relationship building.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
