Job Title: Facility Manager

Location:  Wuse 2,  Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of building systems and infrastructure. 
  • This includes supervising maintenance staff, coordinating repairs, and performing hands-on work in plumbing, air conditioning (AC) systems, electrical installations, and carpentry. 
  • The role ensures that all facilities are safe, functional, and compliant with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the work of maintenance and technical staff.
  • Perform skilled work in plumbing, AC maintenance and repair, electrical troubleshooting, and woodworking/carpentry.
  • Ensure all building systems (HVAC, electrical, water, etc.) are operating efficiently and are maintained regularly.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety compliance.
  • Manage repair projects and liaise with contractors, vendors, or service providers when necessary.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inventory of tools and supplies, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Monitor and manage facility budgets and expenses related to maintenance and repairs.
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans for all major systems and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes.

Key Criteria Requirements

  • OND, HND or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3years of experience as a facility managerpreferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience as a Facility Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Strong hands-on skills in plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical repairs, and carpentry/woodwork.
  • Vocational training or certifications in any of the above trades (preferred).
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, building systems, and local regulations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical/plumbing schematics.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer literacy for managing schedules, logs, and communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Working Conditions:

  • Work may include indoor and outdoor environments, occasionally at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Physical activity including lifting, bending, climbing, and use of tools and equipment.
  • May require on-call availability for emergencies.
