Job Title: Senior Laboratory Services Associate

Job Description
  • The Senior Laboratory Services Associate will under the supervision of the Senior Laboratory Officer provide technical support to the program in the coordination of laboratory activities.
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of the Laboratory component of the TB/HIV program with particular focus on molecular TB; across all supported facilities.
  • Assist with the provision of technical assistance regarding the implementation of the TB Proficiency Testing (PT) program and institution of corrective action.
  • Ensure laboratory capacity at designated sites through on-going mentoring and hands-on supervision.
  • Provide technical support to ensure biosafety management and infection control across supported health facilities.
  • Assist with the implementation of laboratory logistics system for efficient quantification and supply of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Evaluate and implement the use of new tools, technologies and procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or its equivalent.
  • Valid licence to practice as Medical Laboratory Scientist is mandatory.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in Laboratory activities. Knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and management of laboratory services in HIV/AIDS program.
  • Experience in Laboratory Information Systems and at least medium -level computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred.
  • Registration with the Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
  • Experience in the use of the GeneXpertTB and/or Molecular Laboratory diagnostics is a must.
