We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Animal Scientist

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: NYSC

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting field and laboratory research on animal nutrition, breeding, health, and behavior.
• Collect, analyze, and document data from experiments, feed trials, or livestock monitoring programs.
• Collaborate with farm managers, veterinarians, and other stakeholders to implement animal care and management practices.
• Monitor animal performance, health status, and feed intake under various conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of observations and experimental outcomes.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
• Participate in training programs, farm visits, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Ensure adherence to animal welfare guidelines and biosecurity protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, or a related field.
• 0 – 1 year of relevant work or internship experience (farm-based experience is an advantage).
• Strong interest in research, data analysis, and sustainable livestock practices.
• Basic knowledge of animal physiology, genetics, nutrition, and health management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel to field locations and work in rural/agricultural settings.
