Job Description
- As a Storekeeper / Inventory Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations of the store by managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and assisting with the maintenance of store facilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software and database systems.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, ensuring timely updates to the inventory system.
- Monitor and track stock movements, ensuring products are stored correctly and organized.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and report any discrepancies.
- Receive deliveries, verify order accuracy, and ensure products are safely stored in appropriate locations.
- Inspect incoming goods for quality and damages, reporting issues to relevant departments.
- Assist in unloading deliveries and organizing stock within the store or warehouse.
- Monitor stock levels and request new orders to prevent stockouts, ensuring timely replenishment of high-demand products.
- Provide regular reports on stock levels, usage, and discrepancies.
- Report damaged or obsolete stock and assist with stock rotation using FIFO principles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage facility.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards in the storage area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, OND, HND, or BSc in relevant fields such as inventory management, business, or supply chain(additional certifications in logistics or inventory management is a plus).
- Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehouse operations, or in a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Ability to lift and move products when necessary (physically demanding tasks may be required).
- Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
- Basic knowledge of safety and hygiene standards.
