Job Description
Main Functions
- Support the project by development, coordination, or consultation of systematic processes to implement safety strategies
- Work with the contractor on monitoring safety processes and establishing safety expectations
- Verify that project is meeting safety goals and objectives by independent assessment and report to Project Manager
- Serve as primary project team coordinator working with contractor on safety matters related to design and construction, including design safety, health and work environment
- Technical Safety Trainer.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support and advise the project in execution safety
- Support and advise the project to achieve safety, health, and environmental objectives in design
- Provide input to the safety training program administered by NPO SHE Q Function
- Share learning between sites and outside organizations
- Monitor the activities of the contractor’s project SHE group
- Develop expectations for project management systems for safety
- Provide assistance to and participate in risk assessments and studies as defined by the project safety program
- Provide recruitment, administration, and functional guidance of Safety Advisors and Project SHE Advisors
- Support development of contractor Safety management system
- Steward Development of National Safety personnel
Requirements
- College level education or equivalent
- Minimum of 20 years in Construction Safety-related positions (Prefer previous experience with ESSO, Exxon, Mobil, or ExxonMobil projects)
- Practical Safety judgment
- Have depth in specialized SHE training
- Familiar with In-Country and International SHE Legislation.
- Ability and desire to function in an integrated project team environment
- Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations, with ever changing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
- Read, write, and speak fluent English, as required to function effectively within a project team
- Demonstrated ability to develop successful working relationships with emphasis on interfacing and mentoring in a team environment
