Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of the ECOWAS Regional Cultural Programme and Plan of Action;
- Facilitate Cultural Exchanges;
- Promote Cultural Industries and Copyright Protection;
- Liaise with research Institutions and carry out exchange of information, documentation and establish community networks and data bank;
- Collect and analyze date;
- Disseminate information to partners and stakeholders including civil society organizations;
- Coordinate and follow up cooperation with bilateral and multilateral partners;
- Prepare the meetings (write reports and memoranda);
- Any other duty assigned by the President of ECOWAS Commission or any officer designated by him.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or related field.
- A higher degree in the relevant field may substitute for two years of professional experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in similar roles, including two years supervisory experience in a permanent or acting capacity
- Excellent flare and aptitude for technical report writing.
- Candidate should not be 50 years old or over at the point of recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS member states.
- Must be fluent in one of the official languages of the Commission; English, French and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage.
