Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures follow-up of activities in the real and government sectors of the national economies;
- Ensures coordination and follow-up on studies conducted for harmonization of statistics frameworks and Public Finance accounting as well as legal framework of public debt in ECOWAS Member States;
- Analyzes economic performance of Member States;
- Monitors various fiscal operations of Member States and evaluates their economic performance based on approved macroeconomic convergence criteria;
- Draws up bi-annual implementation reports on multilateral surveillance;
- Executes all tasks as required by superior officers.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics of related field
- Minimum of ten years post-qualification work experience, of which two years should have been at management level in the areas of executing multilateral surveillance missions.
- Proven experience in drawing up a multilateral surveillance reports.
- Proven working experience in public finance and formulation of economic policies.
- Proven experience in the use of tools for forecasting and macroeconomics analysis.
- Must be fluent in one of the official languages of the Commission; English, French and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage.
- Candidates should not be 50 years old or over at the point of recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS member states.
