Job Description
The incumbent leads the activities of the Section, Agriculture, Energy and Environment Statistics. She/he Performs data analysis and reporting, using sound statistical tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the development of regional harmonized statistical methodology documents and guides;
- Collects, processing and disseminating statistics, and responding to user requirements;
- Performs data quality and consistency and control on statistics, and responding to user requirements;
- Advises Member States on data quality issues;
- Leads databases creation, Facilitates access to relevant databases, and updates statistics databases;
- Performs data analysis and reporting, using sounds statistical tools;
- Any other responsibility that may be assigned to Him/her by the President of ECOWAS Commission.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics or related fields.
- A higher degree in the relevant field may substitute for two years of professional experience.
- Minimum of five years professional experience in research and statistics related roles.
- Must be fluent in one of the official languages of the Commission; English, French and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage.
- Candidates should not be 50 years old or over at the point of recruitment and must be a citizen of one of the ECOWAS member states.
