Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Job Summary
The HR Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing HR functions at the mining site, ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
The role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and welfare initiatives specific to the mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment and selection of mining staff and support roles on site.
Facilitate on boarding and induction programs tailored to site-specific operations and safety standards.
Maintain updated records of all site employees, contract staff, rosters, and shift schedules.
Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and grievance management.
Monitor compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and HR policies within the mining department.
Support training and development initiatives to up skill workers and promote safe mining practices.
Prepare and submit HR reports from the site, including attendance, leave records, headcount, and incident reports.
Collaborate with line supervisors to address workforce planning and manpower optimization.
Ensure proper documentation and coordination with payroll for timely remuneration and allowances.
Champion employee welfare, health programs, and community engagement initiatives at the site.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
5 years HR experience, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
Good knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and site-based HR administration.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work in remote locations and in demanding site conditions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Membership of CIPM or related HR bodies is an added advantage.
