Job Title: Mechanical Foreman

Reports To: Mechanical Maintenance Manager

Job Overview

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Foreman to oversee mechanical maintenance, equipment erection, and troubleshooting activities at our plant in Kaduna.
• The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in rotary and heavy equipment, deep knowledge of plant safety standards, and the ability to lead a team of technicians to achieve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy plant equipment.
• Enforce plant safety standards during maintenance, erection, and commissioning tasks.
• Align and maintain rotary equipment such as kilns, coolers, gearboxes, crushers, slurry pumps, agitators, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient use of measuring instruments including inside/outside micrometers, vernier calipers, thread gauges, slip gauges, depth gauges, bevel protractors, and master levels.
• Execute drive alignments involving resilient couplings, fluid couplings, gear couplings, torsion shafts, cardan shafts, and journal bearings.
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical technicians with a focus on discipline, safety, and task efficiency.
• Troubleshoot critical plant machinery and carry out time-bound repairs during shutdowns and emergencies.
• Design and fabricate in-situ maintenance fixtures such as coupling pullers, bearing pullers, wire rope slings, and alignment tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings for mechanical fabrication and repair works.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: ITI (Trade Test) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5–10 years in a similar role within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
