We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Technical Officer

Locations: Port Harcourt - Rivers and Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Strategic and Financial Oversight:

• Develop and manage the operating expenditure (OPEX) budget with a focus on gas turbine operations, fuel efficiency, and lifecycle costs.
• Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in turbine performance and plant operations.

Gas Turbine Operations and Optimization:

• Oversee the operation and performance of gas turbines, including combustion systems, compressors, and turbines.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as heat rate, turbine inlet temperature, exhaust gas temperature, and fuel consumption.
• Optimize start-up, load-following, and shutdown procedures to enhance reliability and reduce wear.

Maintenance and Reliability Engineering:

• Supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of gas turbines and associated systems (e.g., lubrication, cooling, fuel supply). 
• Lead root cause analysis of turbine trips, failures, or performance degradation.
• Ensure OEM guidelines and best practices are followed for major overhauls and inspections (e.g., hot gas path inspections, borescope inspections).

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

• Develop and enforce safety protocols for high-temperature, high-pressure turbine systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., NOx, CO emissions) and grid code requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for turbine-related hazards.

Monitoring and Control Systems 

• Utilize Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA to monitor turbine performance and plant operations. 
• Analyze real-time and historical data to detect anomalies and optimize turbine efficiency.
• Oversee integration of digital tools (e.g., AI-based diagnostics, digital twins) for performance monitoring.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors involved in turbine operations and maintenance.
• Identify training needs related to gas turbine technologies and coordinate technical development programs. 
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare and present technical reports on turbine performance, maintenance activities, and operational status.

Requirements

• Minimum of first Degree in Engineering with any specialty in power systems
• Good knowledge of GE & Siemens Gas Turbines a plus
• Relevant professional certifications is required
• Minimum of 15 years cognate power plant experience with a minimum of 10 years in a leadership position of a similar company

Salary
N1,000,000 - N2,000,000 per month.
