Job Title: College Librarian

Location: Arochukwu, Abia

Responsibilities

• Administering the College Library and providing Library services to the entire College community, reporting to the Provost on the day-to-day administration of the library department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must possess a good Bachelor's Degree with a Master in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning with at least 15 years of Cognate experience and registration with a Professional Library body. OR
• A Ph.D in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years cognate (work) experience and evidence of registration with a professional library body.
• Must possess proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
• Must present evidence of sound human relations, professional competence, industrial integrity, and efficient material resources management.
• Must have been a Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
• Must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer

Other Requirements:

• Candidates must not be more than 59 years old at the time of taking up the appointment.

• The conditions of service are the same as those obtainable in State Colleges of Education system in Nigeria.
• Salary and other fringe benefits are as applicable to Principal Officers of State Colleges of Education. 
• Appointment of the candidate is for a single term of five (5) years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.
