Job Title: Marine Engineer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments and research to determine system requirements.
• Assessing and repairing damage caused by wind and waves.
• Designing and operating systems to prevent corrosion and damage from sea creatures.
• Inspecting and maintaining engines, pumps and other essential equipment,
• Installing and maintaining electrical, heating and plumbing systems.
• Drawing up schematics, diagrams and layouts for new systems
• Testing newly designed systems and making modifications as needed
• Developing project proposals that establish expected costs, timelines and potential risks
• Overseeing construction projects to ensure the finished work meets all design requirements
• Performing initial quality control and ongoing maintenance inspections on vessels
• Drafting reports for management and sales teams
• Adhering to maritime safety rules and regulations when developing new systems.

Educational Requirement/Skill & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of experience in marine engineering or related roles
• Familiarity with maritime regulations.
• Deep knowledge of marine systems, mechanical engineering, and maritime regulations
• Excellent proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and marine design tools
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including at sea or on rigs.
