We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Well Head Maintenance & Intervention Engineer 

Location: Lekki/Ajah, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wellhead equipment (valves, actuators, seals, chokes, and associated control systems).
  • Install, repair, and carry out interventions on surface and subsea wellheads, both onshore and offshore.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actions to ensure well integrity and safety.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, conduct hands-on troubleshooting, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct wellhead integrity tests and ensure proper sealing and operational performance.
  • Work with drilling, production, and intervention teams to execute maintenance and intervention programs.
  • Ensure adherence to company and industry safety standards (API, ISO, NOGIC, DPR requirements).
  • Prepare and run wellhead intervention tools, pressure test equipment, and verify safe functionality.
  • Manage inventory and ensure availability of wellhead spare parts and intervention tools.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and intervention summaries.
  • Liaise with OEMs, contractors, and service companies for specialized wellhead services.
  • Participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and pre-job planning (HSE compliance).
  • Respond to emergency wellhead situations, performing corrective actions as required.
  • Provide technical support during well shut-in, startup, and emergency response activities.

General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Production Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in wellhead maintenance, intervention, or production operations.
  • Certification in Well Control (IWCF/WCPL) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of API 6A/17D standards and wellhead equipment design/operation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to HSE practices.
