Job Description
- We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) – Margarine Sales with a strong FMCG background to drive sales, distribution, and market penetration within the assigned territory.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing a team of sales representatives, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders in modern trade, general trade, and HORECA channels.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets for margarine products within the assigned territory.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive volume, revenue, and market share growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution networks in Modern Trade, General Trade, and HORECA sectors.
Territory & Key Account Management:
- Manage and optimize the sales performance of distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Ensure proper product visibility, availability, and merchandising in key retail outlets.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct regular customer visits and address any issues related to sales, delivery, or product quality.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and trade terms with major clients to drive sustainable business growth.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team targets.
- Provide training and guidance on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market strategies.
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
- Track sales performance, generate reports, and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, sales processes, and credit control measures.
- Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure efficient product distribution.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 - 7 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 3 years in margarine sales or related dairy/fats & oils category.
- Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of FMCG distribution, sales strategies, and retail execution.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CRM software, MS Excel, and sales reporting tools.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Modern Trade, General Trade, and HORECA sales.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
