IITA is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. Job Title: Research Technician (Post Harvest)

Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract)
Position/Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
- Assist in processing and store high quality vitamin A cassava and maize;
- Provide clerical and office support to field staff and HarvestPlus project;
- Develop, test and commercialize new vitamin A cassava products for household and commercial use;
- Provide assistance to the postharvest officer to ensure standardization of products processing and packaging;
- Support the establishment of vitamin A cassava points of sale across Nigeria to increase consumers access;
- Support training of caterers and investors on processing and value addition;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
Qualification & Experience
- OND in Food Science and Technology or related field with minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
Skills and competences:
- Be able to follow instruction and work independently where necessary.
- Possess good organizational skill and demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
- Be available to work outside office hours and for extended hours when necessary.
