IITA is an international non-profit agricultural research-for-development (R4D) organization established in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and a member of the CGIAR Consortium. We are recruiting to fill the vacant position of:
Job Title: Field Worker III
Ref. IITA-HR-NRS2016-008
Location: Ibadan
Recruitment Type: National (2-year renewable contract)
Position/Responsibilities
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:
- Assist in spraying pre and post emergence herbicides on demonstration plots;
- Assist in planting and maintaining cassava fields and general field work;
- Assist in training partners and commercial farmers on effective stem cutting and packaging techniques;
- Support the training of partners/investors on the correct usage of herbicides for weeding;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification & Experience
- O'Level with minimum of 3 years’ working experience in a related field.
- Skills and competences
- Be able to follow instructions and work independently where necessary.
- Have good organizational
- skills and demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
- Be available to work outside office hours and for extended hours when necessary.
- Display high energy level.
- Agree to intensive travel.
