The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, is one of the new universities established by the Federal Government in 2011 to ameliorate the problem of access to tertiary education in Nigeria, especially in States lacking Federal University presence. The rationale for establishing the Federal University Oye-Ekiti includes, among others, responsive approach to global academic expectations and excellence; access to quality education; and, to inculcate an attitude for lifelong learning.

Requirements

• In all cases, the staff being recommended to the rank of Reader should have his/her area of specialization properly stated.
• A PhD holder or its equivalent with a minimum of six (6) years in Teaching experience at the University level
• The candidate must have a minimum of two (2) points of PG students supervised
• Considerable background of research with a minimum of admissible publications totaling not less than sixty (60) points.
• Must score four (4) points in Academic Leadership/Administrative Responsibilities.
• Must score three (3) points in Community Service.
• Must have a PhD or its equivalent.
• Must be an up-to-date member of professional body/bodies
• Must score forty-five (45) points in Job Appraisal.
  Must be visible on Google scholar or its equivalent with citation not less than twenty (20).
• Minimum number of publications not less than twelve (12).
• Must have 4 Papers index in Scopus Journal
• Two (2) Favourable External Assessments.

Salary Grade
CONUASS 6.
