University of Uyo (UNIUYO) is located in Uyo, capital of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The university was formerly known as the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS). On October 1st, 1991 the Federal government of Nigeria established it as a federal university and the name was changed to the University of Uyo. The university inherited students, staff, academic programmes and the entire facilities of the erstwhile University of Cross River State established by Cross River State in 1983. Academic activities commenced during the 1991/92 academic session. UNIUYO has 12 faculties,the postgraduate school and the school of continuing Education.

Requirements

• Candidates must possess a PhD or its equivalent in the relevant discipline from a recognized University, plus at least three (3) years of relevant cognate experience in a tertiary academic institution.
• In addition, candidates must have a minimum of two (2) publications in the case of PhD holders and three (3) for Master's Degree holders, in a reputable journal.
• In addition, eligible candidates must have served for three (3) years as Lecturer II in a University or an institution of a similar status.

Other Requirements:

• Application is open to all eligible Nigerian citizens from the ages of 18 to 50 and are required to possess appropriate qualifications, competencies, skills and orientation.
