Job Description

  • The China Business Associate is responsible for attracting Chinese investment to Rendeavour cities, with a focus on Nigeria and Ghana.

Responsibilities

  • Business development to raise Rendeavour’s profile through meetings and other interaction with relevant Chinese companies.
  • Organising and attending roadshows in China to pitch investments in Africa.
  • Establishing mutually beneficial relationships (MOUs) with Chinese national and provincial business associations and chambers of commerce.
  • Representing Rendeavour at relevant conferences and events to source for leads.
  • Formulating and executing China business development strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Obtaining and building databases of Chinese companies to target and recording interaction with them in the company CRM.
  • Signing up and managing sales agents in China and Africa.
  • Translating  Chinese language  to English and vice versa.

Requirements
Hard skills and experience:

  • Native Chinese speaker with at least three years experience living and working in Africa.
  • Thorough knowledge of Chinese investment and business landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Experience in transaction and client relationship management.

Soft skills:

  • Mature, pragmatic and flexible approach, strong commercial judgment.
  • Team player but comfortable working autonomously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Unparalleled attention to detail.
  • Rigorous and organised approach.
