Federal University Gashua (FUGashua) is a university based in Yobe State, northeastern Nigeria. It is a learning and research institution that seeks to solve the immediate needs of society and give every person the opportunity to acquire knowledge. In its Education Sector reform and development, the Federal Government of Nigeria, in 2010, approved the establishment of twelve (12) universities in the six geopolitical zones of the country. This was to expand access to tertiary education for Nigerians.

Job Title: Senior Lecturer (Microbiology)

Requirements

• Candidate should be a Ph.D. Degree holder (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline who has a minimum of five years teaching experience at the University level; plus
• Three (3) years as a Lecturer / Librarian in a University
• A sufficient number of scholarly publications, totaling at least 5 journal articles and 4 edited proceedings; plus (iv) Strong evidence of potential for continuous research activity and academic leadership.

General requirement:

• Application is open to all eligible Nigerian citizens from the ages of 18 to 50 and are required to possess appropriate qualifications and competencies, NYSC discharge/exemption certificate and ICT proficiency are required for all senior positions.
