Job Title: Engineering Procurement Manager

Job Overview
- Our client is looking for an Engineering Procurement Manager (EPM) who will lead the technical and strategic procurement of engineering-related scopes across interior fit-out projects, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), lighting, acoustic performance (drywall & glass partitions) and other specialised systems.
- The role requires a proactive procurement professional who combines strategic sourcing expertise with deep understanding of project delivery dynamics.
- You will be responsible for vendor qualification, performance management, category optimisation and ensuring that all procurement activities align with their commercial objectives and procurement governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management & Qualification:
- Lead the qualification and onboarding of new vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers based on technical competence, compliance, and capacity.
- Maintain a comprehensive Vendor Performance Dashboard on the ERP capturing delivery quality, responsiveness, and compliance to KPIs.
- Conduct quarterly Vendor Evaluation and feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement.
Category & Portfolio Management:
- Develop and manage key procurement categories (MEP, Drywall Partitions, Glass Partitions, Floor finishes, Joinery, Lighting & Accessories, Furniture etc.) with defined cost benchmarks and sourcing strategies.
- Optimise supplier portfolio to balance cost, quality, and reliability while mitigating supply risk.
- Support localisation of supply chains by identifying and developing qualified indigenous vendors.
- Successfully develop and deploy the Rate Cards and Room Kit Procurement System for Joinery and Furniture
Procurement Strategy & Governance:
- Formulate project-specific procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, risk profiles, and profit margin targets.
- Ensure full compliance with the companies Procurement Operating System from sourcing and bid analysis to contract award and variation management.
- Implement category-level cost control measures and maintain transparent documentation for audit readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Design, Project Management, and Finance teams to ensure procurement aligns with project execution schedules and budget objectives.
- Provide market intelligence and cost trend insights to support early-stage project costing and value engineering.
Performance & Reporting:
- Track procurement KPIs including lead time, cost savings, supplier reliability and compliance scores.
- Prepare monthly procurement performance reports for the Head of Supply Chain and Executive Management.
- Champion continuous improvement and digitalisation initiatives within the procurement function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline (Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage).
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Engineering or Construction Procurement, preferably within Fit-out, Construction or Engineering sectors.
- Proven experience managing multiple vendors and complex material categories.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems, procurement software, and supplier evaluation tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
