Job Title: Accountant

Location: Shagamu, Ogun

Job Summary

  • The Account Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of payments and receipts, and supporting overall accounting operations for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions (payments, receipts, invoices, expenses) accurately in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process staff reimbursements, vendor payments, and petty cash.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all financial records and ensure they are easily accessible.
  • Assist in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely settlement.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to obtain required documentation and verify transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

  • OND / HND / B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in an accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
