Job Title: Telesales Agent

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Telesales Agent is responsible for making outbound calls to prospective and existing customers to promote products/services, generate leads, close sales, and meet assigned revenue targets.
  • The role requires strong persuasive skills, excellent communication abilities, and consistent follow-through to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make high-volume outbound calls to sell products/services to potential customers.
  • Receive inbound calls, handle inquiries, and convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, referrals, or online channels.
  • Persuade customers by explaining product benefits and addressing objections professionally.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:
  • Maintain a polite, confident, and professional phone manner at all times.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products/services.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships to encourage repeat patronage.
  • Up-sell and cross-sell where applicable.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Track personal performance and continuously improve call-to-sale conversion rates.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all calls, leads, and sales in the CRM system.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge to ensure accurate information delivery.
  • Prepare daily or weekly performance reports as required by management.
  • Comply with company policies, telephone etiquette standards, and sales guidelines.

Requirements

  • OND / HND / BSc Degree in any related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in telesales, telemarketing, customer service, or related roles experience in Nigerian fintech, telecom or banking.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear, articulate phone voice.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation abilities.
  • Good knowledge of sales techniques and the Nigerian customer market.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven and target-oriented.
  • Customer-focused with good listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
