Job Title: Elderly Caregiver
Location: Abuja (FCT), Lagos, and Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Shift-based / Live-in (as assigned)
Role Summary
- The Elderly Caregiver is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate, and professional non-medical care to elderly clients in their homes.
- The caregiver supports daily living activities, ensures comfort and dignity, monitors wellbeing, and follows care plans while maintaining strict safeguarding, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
- This role is critical to delivering a premium care experience and maintaining client trust.
Key Responsibilities
Personal & Daily Living Care
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
- Assist with toileting and continence care respectfully
- Support feeding and hydration according to the care plan
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living areas
Companionship & Emotional Support
- Provide respectful companionship and conversation
- Support social engagement, memory stimulation, and routines
- Encourage independence while offering appropriate assistance
- Observe mood, behavior, and emotional well-being
Health Monitoring & Reporting
- Observe and report changes in physical or mental condition
- Monitor basic indicators such as appetite, sleep, mood, and mobility
- Follow medication reminders (no prescription or administration unless authorized)
- Report incidents, falls, or emergencies immediately
E-Care & Reporting Duties
- Participate in daily wellness check-ins and reporting
- Use approved tools (WhatsApp, call logs, reporting sheets) for updates
- Submit accurate daily care reports to the care coordinator
- Support the use of emergency alert devices where applicable
Safeguarding & Professional Conduct:
- Protect clients from abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information
- Follow company's safeguarding and code of conduct policies
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times
Collaboration & Compliance
- Follow individualized care plans prepared by nurses
- Cooperate with nurses, care coordinators, and supervisors
- Attend mandatory training and refresher sessions
- Comply with company SOPs, NDPR, and health & safety rules
Performance Indicators
- Client satisfaction and feedback
- Timely and accurate reporting
- Compliance with care plans and SOPs
- Professional conduct and attendance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of OND/B.Sc/HND
- Formal caregiver training certificate is an advantage
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience caring for elderly clients preferred

Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in elderly care, home care, or hospital support roles preferred

Working Conditions
- Shift work, including weekends and holidays
- May involve live-in assignments
- Travel within Abuja is required.
