Hope and Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF) is a National Non-Profit organization functioning since 2011 but was officially registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Government of Nigeria in the year 2016 with registration number RN: CAC/IT/:85536.
Hope and Rural Aid Foundation currently has three field and operational offices in Adamawa, Maiduguri and Yobe states of Nigeria. The organisation works in the Food Security and Livelihood, Protection (Child Protection/Gender based violence), Education and Shelter/ (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) thematic areas.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Community Based Psycho Social Support Facilitator

Location: Madagali LGA, Adamawa
Contract Duration: Short Term (8 Months)

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate structured group and community-based psychosocial support activities.
  • Mobilize community members to participate in psychosocial and wellbeing activities.
  • Promote positive coping strategies, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Identify individuals in need of additional psychosocial or mental health support and refer them appropriately.
  • Provide basic psychological first aid (PFA) where required, in line with training and SOPs.
  • Support awareness and sensitization sessions on stress management and wellbeing.
  • Maintain basic activity records and submit reports to the supervisor.
  • Work closely with community leaders and protection teams to ensure safe and inclusive participation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field (required).
  • Additional training or certification in Psychosocial Support (PSS), Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Psychological First Aid (PFA), Counseling, or Social Work is a strong advantage.
  • At least 1–2 years’ experience in community-based work, psychosocial support, or humanitarian programming.
  • Experience working with vulnerable or crisis-affected populations is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in local language(Hausa)
