We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary 

  • The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial analysis, and mentoring junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company accounting policies
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to audit requests
  • Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting staff
  • Support tax preparation, filings, and compliance (as applicable)
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and management teams on financial matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred (or in progress)
  • Experience with audits and regulatory compliance
