Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer

Location: Lagos 

Job Description

  • The MEL Officer will support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to track program performance, assess impact, and promote evidence-based learning across all The FATE School programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of The FATE School programs in line with agreed MEL standards.
  • Participate in the design and application of impact measurement tools, including surveys, pre-and post-training assessments, and discussion guides.
  • Collect, clean, analyse, and summarise qualitative and quantitative program data.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly, annual, and donor reports within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, storage, and management of MEL data and reports.
  • Share insights, lessons learned, and success stories with program teams to inform learning and decision -making.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Sociology, or another Social Science discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
  • Experience designing and implementing MEL systems across the project lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
    High attention to detail and strong data management skills.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools.
    Strong interest and passion for the non – profit or development sector.
