Overview
- We are currently seeking a competent and detail-oriented Site Engineer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising construction activities and ensuring projects are executed in line with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities on site
- Read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications accurately
- Coordinate artisans, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery
- Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with building standards and regulations
- Ensure proper use of materials, tools, and equipment on site
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
- Prepare site reports and provide regular progress updates to management
- Identify and resolve on-site technical issues promptly
- Liaise with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in construction or building projects
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site practices
- Strong supervision, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet project deadlines
- Knowledge of safety procedures and site management best practices.
Added Advantages:
- Experience with residential or commercial building projects
- Basic knowledge of project costing or material estimation
- Familiarity with Nigerian building codes and regulations
- Computer literacy (AutoCAD or basic site documentation tools is an advantage)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
