Beckley Engineering and Plant Hire Ltd was created for the purpose of offering logistic services, effective and efficient Equipment/vehicle leasing, and procurement of consumables for construction. The company has gone as far as providing services to multinationals, small and medium-scale businesses, corporate Organizations and Government agencies.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Logistics Officer / Plant Manager

Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos
Reports To: MD

Summary

  • The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement, deployment, and utilization of haulage trucks and plant equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations.
  • The role involves scheduling, fleet coordination, client liaison, documentation, and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Haulage & Transportation Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily haulage operations for trucks and drivers.
  • Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials to client sites.
  • Monitor vehicle movements, trip completion, and turnaround times.
  • Optimize routing to delays, and downtime. reduce fuel costs,

Plant & Equipment Hire Management:

  • Coordinate deployment, mobilization, and demobilization of plant equipment (e.g. excavators, cranes, loaders, forklifts).
  • Track plant utilization to maximize revenue and reduce idle time.
  • Maintain accurate plant hire records, job cards, and rental schedules.
  • Liaise with clients on availability, duration, and off-hire procedures.

Fleet & Asset Control:

  • Monitor fleet condition and report faults, breakdowns, or maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with the maintenance team.
  • Maintain updated records of vehicle licenses, permits, insurance, and certifications.
  • Track fuel consumption and investigate variances.

Driver & Operator Coordination:

  • Recruit and select drivers
  • Assign drivers and equipment operators based on job requirements and competence.
  • Ensure drivers and operators comply with company policies, safety rules, and road regulations.
  • Monitor attendance, trips, and overtime records.
  • Report incidents, accidents, or disciplinary issues.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding logistics schedules and service delivery.
  • Handle client complaints or operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors, suppliers, and third-party vendors.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, road safety standards, and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip checks documentation.
  • Report and document accidents, near misses, and safety violations.
  • Enforce use of PPE and safe work practices on all sites.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics and utilization reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of trips, plant hire invoices, delivery notes, and waybills.
  • Support billing by providing verified job completion and utilization data.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • OND / HND / BSc in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experiencein haulage, plant hire, or logistics operations.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management and plant hire operations.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian road transport regulations and HSE standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics tracking tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operations simultaneously.

  • Salary Range: N150,000 monthly + Commissions.
