Job Title: Fleet Officer

Job Summary
- As a Fleet Officer, you will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance, safety, and optimal utilization of all company vehicles.
- The role ensures that vehicles are roadworthy, compliant with regulatory requirements, properly documented, and used efficiently to support business operations while minimizing costs and risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all company vehicles, ensuring availability, efficiency, and proper usage.
- Schedule and monitor routine servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance for all fleet vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and comply with Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) regulations and other relevant transport laws.
- Maintain accurate records for each vehicle, including service history, fuel consumption, mileage, insurance, licenses, and permits.
- Monitor drivers’ conduct, assign vehicles, and enforce company fleet policies and safety standards.
- Track fuel usage and prevent misuse, theft, or unauthorized vehicle operations.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, renewals of insurance, roadworthiness certificates, vehicle licenses, and other statutory documents.
- Investigate and report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and traffic violations, recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure proper cleanliness, branding, and physical condition of vehicles at all times.
- Liaise with mechanics, vendors, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies on fleet-related matters.
- Prepare periodic fleet performance and cost reports for management review.
- Support driver recruitment, training, and orientation on vehicle safety and company policies.
- Enforce compliance with company rules regarding vehicle usage, maintenance, and reporting procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of HND / B.Sc in Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fleet management, transport coordination, or vehicle administration.
- Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and fleet operations.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian road transport regulations and safety standards.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, fleet tracking systems).
- Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
