Job Title: Junior Accountant

Job Description
- The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company.
- The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting bookkeeping, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and basic statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Record daily financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Post entries into accounting systems and maintain accurate ledgers.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial records and schedules.
Payments & Receivables:
- Support processing of supplier payments and expense claims.
- Assist in tracking customer invoices and following up on outstanding receivables.
- Maintain proper records of petty cash and reimbursements.
Reconciliation & Controls:
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook balancing.
- Support stock, expense, and supplier reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Assist in preparing VAT, WHT, and other basic statutory schedules.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
- Prepare routine accounting and financial reports as required.
Coordination & Support:
- Work closely with the Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance department.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of financial records and postings.
- Timeliness of transaction processing.
- Bank and ledger reconciliation accuracy.
- Proper documentation and filing compliance.
- Support for audit and compliance requirements.
- Reduction in posting and reconciliation errors.
- Adherence to internal accounting procedures.
- Responsiveness to finance-related requests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably within FMCG or manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel is an advantage.

- Basic knowledge of VAT and WHT.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
