Job Title: Business Development Manager

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Nasarawa

Job Summary

  • The BDM leads the branch sales strategy, supports Branch Managers, and drives portfolio growth across the branches.
  • The role ensures operational discipline, strong portfolio quality, and alignment between sales targets and field operations.
  • The BDM also develops branch teams to achieve long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Branch Business Development:

  • Design and implement strategies to grow branch client acquisition and portfolio size.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer segments, and competitive trends.
  • Support branch staff in achieving individual and branch sales targets.

Portfolio & Risk Management:

  • Monitor branch loan portfolios for quality, PAR (Portfolio at Risk), and delinquency.
  • Work with Branch Managers to identify risks early and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure branches adhere to Microcima lending policies and operational controls.

Team Leadership & Coaching:

  • Mentor and coach Branch Managers and their teams on sales, collections, and operational discipline.
  • Provide guidance on client relationship management and problem-solving.
  • Support succession planning by identifying and developing internal talent.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Track branch-level KPIs including loan growth, PAR, client acquisition, and staff performance.
  • Provide periodic performance reports and actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Recommend process improvements based on data and field observations.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Liaise between Head Office and branches to ensure alignment of goals, policies, and operational practices.
  • Coordinate with the HR Manager on staffing needs, training requirements, and talent development.
  • Represent Microcima in local business and community networks to enhance brand presence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Loan portfolio growth and quality (PAR reduction).
  • Branch-level sales target achievement.
  • Team development and internal promotion readiness.
  • Operational compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Client acquisition and retention metrics.

Qualifications

  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in microfinance, banking, or field sales leadership.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Hands-on experience in branch operations and field management.
  • Leadership and coaching capability to develop branch teams.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to performance monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple branches or teams effectively.

Salary
N300,000 monthly.
