Job Title: Quality Control Officer (Food Sector)

Location: Island, Lekki - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

• The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the production process.
• The role focuses on inspection, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company quality policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as ISO 22000, NAFDAC, and other applicable regulations.
• Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and food handling practices across production areas.
• Perform product testing, record results, and prepare quality reports.
• Identify quality deviations, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation, batch records, and audit logs.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
• Collaborate with production teams to enforce quality standards without disrupting output.
• Train staff on quality control procedures, food safety, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in quality control within the food manufacturing or processing sector.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
